The mould plays a central role in the moulding of rubber. The quality of the mould influences the finish, surface, curing and regularity of the rubber item produced. The design, size, and complexity of the item – in addition to the steel quality and level of machining – influence the initial costs involved in the moulding of rubber and silicone parts.
Production method, process time and mould capacity must also be assessed in relation to the required batch size, time-to-market, and end-product lifespan. All these parameters must be carefully considered in the early stages of production planning.
Codan Tech Qingdao has extensive experience in the design of moulds. Everything from large-size moulded parts with long process times and limited demands on tolerances and finish to micro moulding in top-quality, multi-cavity moulds with short process times and extreme demands on tolerance and finish.
A relatively high proportion of development costs are invested in the design and manufacture of the mould. Mould design, testing and adjustment are crucial for subsequent bulk production. Consequently, Codan Tech Qingdao always works closely with the customer on the development and adaptation of moulds.

We are particularly experienced in the production of high-end moulds for items with special requirements on quality or complexity but also produce moulds in cheaper steel for items with lower quality finish or less complex design.
