RUBBER AND SILICONE − Compounds and characteristics
By choosing either standard rubber types or specially prepared rubber compounds, Codan Tech Qingdao ensures that the finished component has the precise properties dictated by its intended use.
An overview of the various rubber types and the corresponding ISO nomenclature is given below.
Although it is basically the unique elasticity of rubber that we utilize in technical components, the wide variety of rubber types offer considerable property variation in other respects.
As rubber and silicone are natural products, their properties may change over time in response to atmospheric, physical, or chemical influences.
There are two things, in particular, that should be taken into consideration when choosing a suitable type of rubber for technical applications:
· Resistance of the rubber to various substances and media.
· Physical properties of the rubber.
